    Sunglasses FAQs

Children’s eyes are more vulnerable to UV damage than adult eyes. Their lenses are clearer and allow more UV rays to reach the retina, and sun damage to the eyes builds up over time.

Protecting little eyes early helps reduce long-term risk - which is why Babiators are designed to provide serious UV protection from day one.

Babiators are designed for babies and children aged 0–6+ years, with sizing options to ensure a secure and comfortable fit.

If your baby is spending time outdoors in daylight, eye protection is important.

    Yes. Babiators are:

    1. BPA-free
    2. Made from safe, child-friendly materials
    3. Designed without small parts
    4. Built with impact- and shatter-resistant lenses

They’re made to handle real life with little ones.

UV400 means the lenses block 100% of harmful UVA and UVB rays.

All authentic Babiators sunglasses offer UV400 protection, giving your child complete protection from the sun’s harmful rays.

All Babiators frames are made of a soft and flexible therma plastic rubber which makes them super comfortable and virtually indestructible. Our lenses in our original and screensavers styles are made from impact and shatter resistant polycarbonate, whilst our polarised lenses are made from TAC (Tri Acetate Cellulose).

Babiators are built for protection first.

While they’re undeniably cute, every pair is designed to provide full UV400 protection and meet strict safety standards. They’re made specifically for babies and children - not just scaled-down adult sunglasses.

Yes. Babiators lenses are impact- and shatter-resistant, making them much safer for active babies and children than standard sunglasses.

They’re designed to bend and flex - not snap.

Not all kids’ sunglasses provide proper UV protection.

    Babiators are:

    1. UV400 certified (100% UVA & UVB protection)
    2. Rigorously tested for safety
    3. Designed specifically for babies and children
    4. Durable and flexible for everyday wear

Dark lenses without proper UV protection can actually do more harm than good - which is why verified UV protection matters.

    Babiators should:

    1. Sit comfortably on the bridge of the nose
    2. Cover the eyes fully
    3. Stay secure without pinching

If you’re between sizes, refer to the age guidance as a starting point, but consider your child’s face shape for the best fit.

You can use our size guide to measure up your kids for their sunnies here or find specific measurements on each product page.

This is very normal at first. Lightweight frames, flexible materials and consistent wear during outdoor time help children get used to sunglasses.

Many parents find that once children realise they reduce glare and bright light, they’re more willing to keep them on.

No. High-quality lenses with proper UV protection help shield developing eyes from harmful rays without interfering with vision development.

Polarised lenses reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water and sand. They can improve visual comfort, particularly at the beach or on bright days.

However, full UV400 protection is the most important feature - and all Babiators provide this as standard.

Babiators are Rx-able for certain prescriptions (-4 to +4). It's at the discretion of the optician. The lenses are removable/replaceable.

Use warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that may damage the lenses.
