    Clothing FAQs

Yes, children of all ages should wear a sun hat when outside and exposed to direct sunlight. Sunhats protect the delicate skin on children’s head, face and neck from sun burn, and will also help to protect them against more serious conditions like sun stroke or heat exhaustion.

As well as a sun hat, if your little one is older than six months old, you should also regularly apply sun cream to keep them protected.

Kids don’t like to sit still. They want to be off having fun, even if that means dripping water all over and getting a chill. Hooded towels allow them to be hands free, warm, and have fun whilst getting dry when they’ve been in the pool or at the beach.

These can even be used at home after showers and baths helping your little one to get themselves dry easily.

Clothing is sun protective if it is made from a material such as UPF 50+ which is designed to block out the majority of the sun’s harmful rays. Sun protective clothing is usually also designed to cover the most vulnerable areas of the body like a wide-brimmed sun hat.

Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation a fabric allows to reach the skin. UPF 50+ material blocks 98% of the sun’s harmful rays and therefore reduces the risks of sun exposure. This rating is the maximum sun protective rating achievable for fabrics.

To best protect your little one from the sun, they should wear a sun hat with a drawstring strap under their chin so you can be sure the hat will stay on all day and keep them protected.

The hat should also be made from UPF 50+ fabric which acts as a shield against UV rays, and have a wide brim which covers the forehead, face and neck which are the most vulnerable areas.
