This mission is one that extends to the causes we support and equally want to give our mini rockstar's the very best in life. So, for GivingTuesday2022 we've chosen to Give from Heart...

For the second year running, we're supporting our charity partners Rays of Sunshine to support the amazing work they do. That's why we've chosen to make this year's Giving Tuesday even more special in donating a whopping 50% of sales from all orders of our Hearts collection. We'll do this not only throughout Giving Tuesday but for the first week of December! Read on to discover why giving back is so important to us...

What is Giving Tuesday?

Each year, Giving Tuesday falls on the first Tuesday following Black Friday, with this year, falling on the 29th November 2022.

However, the tradition began in the US nearly ten years ago as a charity campaign for all to come together give back - likewise falling on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

After witnessing its successes, the UK has been an official partner of the global Giving Tuesday movement since 2014, and has grown every year, bringing more charities, businesses and organisations together to support the simple messages behind this expanding global campaign.

Today Giving Tuesday now happens officially in over 60 countries with the goal to create a wave of generosity that lasts well beyond the day and touches every person on the planet. 

Why Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday champions a movement for shared humanity and generosity. This global network joins people around the world with a common mission to be kind and give where we can.

We love to support this day every year, but anyone can get involved! Whether it’s making someone smile, from anything such as helping a neighbour or stranger, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.

About our charity partner

Rays of Sunshine brightens the lives of seriously ill young people and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support within hospitals.

With over 49,000 children and young people living in the UK with a serious or life-limiting illness and this figure is increasing every year, organisations like Rays of Sunshine are a lifeline for little ones going through the worst. 

Like us, Rays of Sunshine believe that every child deserves to experience happiness and have the opportunity to put their illness on hold – even if it is just for one day.

Their work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem and creates precious memories and smiles.

Granting Magical Wishes

Every day of the year, Rays of Sunshine gives brave and deserving young people the chance to put their illness on hold and enjoy a moment of escape.

Wishes can be as unique as the children themselves and whether a child wants to be a princess or a fireman for a day, own an iPad, meet their favourite celebrity or even a 'real-life' mermaid, or the Loch Ness Monster, Rays of Sunshine work hard to make that come true. 

Sunshine in Hospitals

Their hospital team delivers sunshine to children up and down the country currently receiving treatment in hospital. From their Virtual Hospital Activity Days to Sensory Bags, they aim to reach children and their families when they need it the most. 

Ward Wishes

The Ward Wishes benefit thousands of patients each year too, currently treatment in hospital or a hospice and have included decorating treatment rooms, purchasing equipment, funding sensory rooms and an indoor sensory garden.
